  1. What do you mean not great either?!?
You are 38% to your goal.
You have 7 Months to get that other 62%.
It's doable! Especially if you are growing a good amount of your own food this summer, you'll see a reduction in your grocery store costs, right?
I know you can do it!
And if you don't.....well, every dollar you do get closer to your goal the better. I know the chances of making my 60K is pretty dim but it's NOT keeping me from going forward full tilt.
Head down and just keep pushing Jo! ;-))

  2. Will do Slugmama!

Unfortunately, this is the time of year that my grocery budget is actually highest. That is due to the purchase of large amounts of sugar, vinegar, spices, lids, etc. Not to mention the occasional midnight run to walmart to use up those ball/kerr jar coupons. Wouldn't want good coupons to go to waste right? of course that's the reason. It has nothing to do with me, yet again, running out of canning jars. ;)

I also do alot of stocking up this time of year (and on into the fall). For instance teh store a couple weeks ago was running a sale where you got a bag of sugar at .89 (otherwise cheapest is 1.69) if you spent 10 dollars or more. Guess who made a total of 40 trips through the checkout line with purchases ranging from 10.03 to 10.19 (pretax). Yeah that's right me. This took me a total of about 15 minutes (at straight up 6am to beat the crowds). to earn the amount of money (before taxes etc.) that I saved in that 15 minutes I'd have to be paid $128.00 an hour. Ca I count that savings toward my goal? ;)

oh well, its not like I actually paid ten dollars for any of those purchases. The sale was also based on before coupon amount and coincided with double coupons.
